SPEKTOROLOGY
Show Program

Spektorology is a cabaret concert exploring love, despair, and personal growth through the music of indie-pop songwriter Regina Spektor. Structured around the Fool’s Journey through the Major Arcana of Tarot. It is a story that is both universal and deeply reflective of my own experiences, charting the course from naive optimism, through crushing loss, to self-love and acceptance.

The music of Regina Spektor has been the constant soundtrack to my life ever since I was in high school, speaking to me in a way few other artists have. It had always been a dream of mine to program a cabaret using her music, but I spent many years dismissing the idea as too niche and too ambitious.

Committing to this cabaret has been a process of finally trusting my creative impulses, and most importantly, allowing myself to take a leap of faith and have fun not knowing where I’ll land.

Spektorology wouldn’t exist without co-production and artistic direction by the incredible drag icon Chevy Lace, nor without the brilliant music direction of pianist and composer Stephen Murphy. Thanks also to Karina Parker of Killer Queen Opera for her assistance and support.
